Sicura Trade-In Program
At SICURA, we celebrate our history by offering a seamless way to transition from the past to the present. Our Exchange Program invites you to leverage the value of your heritage Sicura watch as credit toward the acquisition of a contemporary model from our current collections.
1. Qualification Criteria
This program is exclusively reserved for vintage SICURA timepieces. While we welcome all submissions, the final decision regarding a watch's eligibility rests solely with our horological experts.
- Definition: "Vintage" generally encompasses timepieces produced over two decades ago or specific reference numbers of historical significance to the Sicura brand.
Unsure? If you are uncertain about your watch’s eligibility, please follow the assessment steps below, and our team will verify its status.
2. Preliminary Assessment & Visual Documentation
To begin the valuation process, please direct your inquiry at tradein@sicura.com. Your initial correspondence must include:
- Model Reference: The specific model name or reference number (if legible).
- Estimated Era: The approximate year of production.
- Condition Report: A summary of the watch's operational state, cosmetic condition, and any known mechanical faults.
Required Imagery: To facilitate an accurate preliminary quote, you must provide high-resolution, focused photography covering the following angles:
- Dial & Crystal: A direct, well-lit view of the face.
- Caseback: Showing all engravings and serial numbers.
- Profile: Both left and right sides of the case (crown/pushers).
- Strap/Bracelet: The full band, including the clasp mechanism and condition of links/leather.
- Imperfections: Macro (close-up) shots of any scratches, dents, patina, or damage.
Movement: If the watch features an exhibition caseback, a clear shot of the caliber is required.
3. Valuation Proposal
Upon review of your submission, our valuation team will analyze the watch’s authenticity, market desirability, and apparent condition. We will then issue a provisional trade-in offer via email.
Acceptance: This offer is conditional pending physical inspection. You must reply to this email explicitly accepting the provisional value to proceed to the next stage.
4. Logistics & Shipping Liability
Once the provisional offer is accepted, we will provide specific shipping instructions and the destination address for our Service Center.
- Packaging: The client is responsible for packing the timepiece in a rigid, impact-resistant box with ample cushioning.
- Insurance & Costs: The client bears all shipping costs. We mandatorily require that the shipment be fully insured for the provisional trade-in value and possess a tracking number.
Liability: SICURA TIMEPIECES assumes no liability for loss, theft, or damage occurs during transit. The watch remains the client's responsibility until signed for at our facility.
5. Physical Verification
Upon arrival, your watch will undergo a rigorous hands-on inspection by our watchmakers. We will verify:
- Authenticity of all components.
- Mechanical functionality.
- Consistency between the physical condition and the photographs provided.
6. Adjustments & Discrepancies
If the physical inspection reveals issues not disclosed or visible in the initial photographs (e.g., internal mechanical damage, water damage, non-original parts), we reserve the right to revise the trade-in offer.
We will communicate the adjusted value and the reasoning via email. You will then have two choices:
- Proceed: Accept the revised value via email confirmation.
- Withdraw: Decline the offer and request the return of your watch.
Note: In the event of a withdrawal, the client is responsible for the cost of return shipping. The watch will be dispatched once payment for shipping is confirmed.
7. Credit Redemption & Invoicing
Once the trade-in value is finalized (either the original or accepted revised offer), the credit will be applied immediately toward the purchase of your chosen new SICURA timepiece.
- Finalization: You will notify us of the new model you wish to acquire.
Documentation: We will generate an official commercial invoice for the new purchase, clearly displaying the trade-in credit as a deduction and showing the remaining balance to be paid.
8. Irrevocability
All completed trade-in transactions are binding and final. Once the trade-in credit has been applied to a new invoice and the transaction completed, the vintage watch becomes the property of SICURA TIMEPIECES. It cannot be returned or exchanged back to the client under any circumstances, barring the withdrawal scenario mentioned in Section 6.
